Tomorrow is a New Day

With funding from the European Commission, Search for Common Ground (SFGC) is implementing an 18 month project entitled, "Tomorrow is a New Day" designed to complement the Amnesty process and DDR in the Niger Delta. The project will support community-level conflict resolution and reintegration of ex-militants in six Niger Delta communities in Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers States. It will also facilitate community access to information and dialogue through the establishment of community radio stations in the six project communities. SFGC has engaged seven technical and implementing partners, including Stakeholders Democracy Network (SDN), the Centre for Environment, Human Rights and Democracy (CEHRD), the Institute for Media and Society (IMESO), the African Radio Drama Association (ARDA), Developing Radio Partners (DRP) and LITE-Africa.

LITE-Africa serves as the Delta State implementing partner, working in Koko and Oporoza communities of Delta State. Throughout the course of the project, LITE-Africa will provide conflict training for community stakeholders in conflict transformation techniques, assist in trauma healing assessments, provide advocacy training for women and youth and carry out a series of community solidarity events among other activities.
