Engaging all Stakeholders on the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights

Leadership Initiative for Transformation and Empowerment (LITE Africa) under its AusAid sponsored project ‘A Call to Action: Engaging all Stallholders on the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights’ is organising a VPs Call to Action Conference and Workshop on promoting Security and Investment in Nigeria’s Extractive Sector through Multi-stakeholder Initiatives. This event will take place on Wednesday, February 26th 2014 at Newton Park Hotel Abuja, Nigeria.

 

LITE - Africa Launches Phase II of a NED Funded Project on Strengthening the Capacities of Security Forces on the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights in the Niger Delta (SCSFVP)

This year will be used to consolidate on the gains from the pilot phase and engage senior level authorities through advocacy visits to ensure the establishment of Human Rights Desks at JTF Army Barracks in Effurun and Police Commands inWarri in Delta state. Our work with the established Community Monitoring Groups (CMGs) will continue in four communities of Warri North and Warri South West LGAs in Delta State, and with the JTF to follow up on human rights abuses.

 

AusAid Funds LITE-Africa to Increase Awareness of the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights in Nigeria

Leadership Initiative for Transformation and Empowerment (LITE-Africa) is proud to announce the launch of a 12-month project aimed at increasing the awareness of the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPs) in Nigeria.
