Three Dutch Nationals Kidnapped at Letugbene!

Niger-Delta Militants have kidnapped three Dutch Nationals (2 males and a female) at Letugbene river, Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State on Sunday at about 4:30pm.

After the news broke, LITE-Africa contacted community representatives who revealed that the foreigners were in the community to see the local hospital which served over 16 communities along the Dodo River and figure out how they could assist the villagers in the area with health care .They were five Dutch nationals (3 white and 2 black skinned) and only the white skinned Dutch nationals were kidnapped whilst all others were spared. It is alleged that a male resident from one of the neighboring community lost his life whilst trying to escape.

Our sources noted that the kidnappers who came through the southern ijaw river also returned through the same route after taking the hostages. The boat of the foreigners which was damaged during the firing exchange is currently at Burutu, Delta State. Contact has been established with militants who from all indications are willing to negotiate as long as there is no involvement of security personnel’s. Another source revealed that the executives are not ready to negotiate with the militants until they are allowed to speak to the Dutch hostages over the phone.
