2nd CSO Roundtable on Business & Human Right Report

Following the inaugural meeting of the Nigerian CSO Coalition on Business and Human Rights held in March 2013, it became imperative to call for a second meeting to follow up with CSO activities on promotion of VPS, strengthen the membership and seek more ways of collaborations in the attainment to the objective of the coalition. This meeting was convened courtesy of the AUSAid funded project entitled “A Call to Action: Engaging all Stakeholders on the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights in Nigeria, to sensitize and educate the CSOs on the project objectives.

This report has been written to document the discussion, insights and outcome from the CSO Coalition meeting held in Port Harcourt, River State on the 26th of June 2013. It brought together 21 CSOs representatives working on issues of environment, transparency and accountability, Gender, Cooperate social Responsibility, Human Rights, Peace and Conflict, and community development. The meeting was convened by Leadership Initiative for Transformation and Empowerment (LITE-AFRICA) with support from Search for Common Ground who provided the space for the meeting.
