Community Monitoring Groups

Community Monitoring Groups: 40 individuals begin 3-day training today in Warri.

4 men and 4 women from each of 5 communities in Delta State arrived in Warri to begin their three day training programme in monitoring oil revenue expenditures for community development. The oil hosting communities represented are Benikrukru, Tsekelewu, Ogidibgen, Ogbudugbudu, and Tisun, and each community chose their 8 representatives to create a Community Monitoring Group (CMG). Each group will learn where the various oil revenue expenditures are sourced, how decisions are made, and how they can affect the process so that their communities have a greater benefit from development projects.
